Since the birth of my fourth “baby” over a year ago, life has been chaos. Gone are the days of home-cooked healthy meals, replaced instead by boxed mac and cheese and frozen pasta. When I do attempt to make a healthy dinner, by the time I've prepared and cooked the meal, I usually have 2 "hangry" kids on the verge of a melt down. So, when I was given the chance to try out Gobble, Inc. and I jumped at the opportunity. With their easy to prepare meals using fresh ingredients, and a variety of meal options delivered straight to my doorstep, it was a no-brainer for me!
Each meal serves 2 adults and you can order as many meals as you need to in order to feed your family. The meals for the week are delivered right to your door in a nicely packaged box. When I got my box, I was impressed at how nicely everything was packed. There were two huge ice packs in the box so my meat and veggies stayed nice and cold. Each meal was bagged separately and clearly labeled so there was no chance of mixing up ingredients. With all of this planned out for you, Gobble eliminates the stress from the planning, preparation, and execution of routine dinners
The first meal I made was the Chicken a L’Orange with wild rice and green beans. I didn’t get home until 6:30 pm that night and needed to get dinner on the table ASAP, before the entire world melted down with a hungry 3 year old. For this meal, the chicken cooked in a pan on the stove top and the green beans and wild rice were steamed in the microwave. All of the food was pre-washed and prepped thanks to Gobble, so I didn’t have to spend any extra time in the kitchen. Around 10 minutes later, I had dinner on the table and the “hangry” kid crisis had successfully been avoided! Gobble doesn't want to make you chop onions, create sauces, or spend 30 minutes cleaning up an entire kitchen's worth of pots, pans, and bowls so I didn’t have to spend the evening cleaning up the kitchen, either. Instead, I spent it outside riding bikes with my kids. Thank you Gobble, Inc.!
The next dinner I made was the Pan-Roasted Bistro Filet with Roasted Potatoes and Sauteed Spinach. This meal does require two pans, one for the filets and additional one for the potatoes. The potatoes came wrapped in tin foil and were already baked for you. I just cut them into wedges and made them crispy on the stove. The filets you brown in a skillet and then move the skillet to the oven to allow them to finish cooking. My kids LOVE, LOVED this meal. The filets were oh so tender and the potato wedges were a hit. I didn’t even know my kids like potatoes cooked this way! Yum!
We also tried the Artichoke and Ricotta Ravioli. This meal was my favorite. Pasta and sauce with roasted bell peppers? Yes, please! All of the ingredients were fresh and the sauce had a great flavor. This meal definitely deserves repeating. My picture of it never happened-I had it all set up and went to grab my phone, but when I got there I had 2 kids already digging in. I figure that's means it's a success :) Mom life, am I right?
Gobble, Inc was a win in my book! I loved the ability to put together an entire meal (and it’s healthy too!) in about 10 minutes. Dinner time really is the “witching” hour when you have little kids and it was nice to only have 10 minutes of fussy kids instead of 45 minutes. I also loved the variety of meals to choose from. So many choices, including vegetarian. The meals I picked were all foods my kids would like, but also exposed to them to sides and vegetables they don’t eat as often. My favorite part though? The fact that I didn’t spend the entire evening cleaning up the kitchen. One or two pans were all that was needed, which meant minimal cleanup. I loved that I had the chance to spend more time with my husband and kids in the evening. If you want to serve your family home-cooked meals with minimal prep, look no further than Gobble! You won’t regret it!
