Everyone wants the best for their child and the best classes to help with physical skills, language, socialization, creativity, and emotional development.  It can be overwhelming and dizzying to think about what classes to put your child into to give them these things as there are so many options!  The good news is that actively engaging in music is the only activity that activates all of these areas in your brain at once, so you don’t need to enroll your child in 12 classes to gain all of these skills or to be crowned mom-of-the-year after all!

While listening to music has many benefits, it’s the actively taking part of music that gives the brain its true workout and allows all these areas to connect and activate.  You also don’t have to be a musician to get this awesome workout!  It can be as simple as having a dance party in your living room to “Let it Go” from Frozen or swaying gently, holding your child in your arms, and singing “Twinkle Twinkle”.  You can also have a makeshift band in your own kitchen with pots and pans to get those creative juices flowing with your child.

That’s why at Music Together, we encourage parents and children to interact with live singing, dancing, instruments, and silly ways of playing with music to support all areas of development for children and give them the best start in life.

As a Music Together teacher, I can say that I really do have the best job ever!  I get to teach with an award-winning music curriculum, but most importantly, I encourage families to listen to and make their own music at home after each weekly class.  Each family takes home 25 songs every semester with music from all over the world to stimulate their child’s growing minds and a music book packed full of ideas to incorporate into bedtime, mealtime, and those not so easy transition times too.  You don’t have to be a musician.  You don’t even have to sing well!  You just need to share your love and joy with your child, and they will become musical and develop in all areas.  No need to make your schedule crazy with 12 classes all at once.  Just make music, and let children play as they were meant to.  Come demo a class anytime to experience the magic, memories, and musical play!
