My family and I had the opportunity to try out Escape Rooms Mesa earlier this week and we were all so excited! School is out for summer and with four busy kids it can be a challenge to find indoor activities that everyone enjoys. Escape Rooms Mesa definitely fit that criteria! Located in the heart of downtown Mesa, Escape Rooms Mesa is the largest Escape Room venue in the entire United States.
While browsing their website, I was surprised to learn that they have 13 different escape rooms to choose from, each with a unique theme. From the “Zookeeper Room” for the entire family, to a “Panic at the Disco” themed room, Escape Rooms Mesa is great for date nights, family nights, corporate events and more.
Once we arrived at Escape Rooms Mesa, we checked in with our game master at the front desk and were given a few minutes to practice opening a closing a variety of locks that might be found in the escape rooms. My kids were in heaven right from the start, as they got fiddled with all of the different locks. From that point, we watched a quick video to go over the basics of how the escape room worked and then our friendly game master led us into our room. We chose “The Lost Dutchman,” a family friendly room that appealed to my 3 boys.
My entire family was involved for the entire hour, looking for clues and trying to open all the locks and drawers. Everyone was brainstorming while looking for clues and amazingly there was NO FIGHTING between my four kids during the entire hour! Our Game Master was fantastic and even gave my kids a few clues along the way when they got stuck. Even though we weren’t able to solve the clues to escape the room in time, everyone left with a smile! Now they’re just excited to go back and try to solve it again!
