Announcing a New Preschool Option for Phoenix Parents
Organic Beginnings Preschool Opening in Mesa in April, 2017.
– Mesa, AZ – A new kind of private preschool is opening in the Phoenix area. Organic Beginnings Preschool is a private nature based preschool.
“Our new preschool caters to families looking to give their children the most natural and wholesome preschool experience before they enter Kindergarten.” says Greg Cruz, one of the founders of the school.
“Studies show that children exposed to nature during their crucial early development years are happier, healthier and more resilient than their counterparts,” Tracy Cruz, another founder of the school. “We are a play and nature based program because the research supports that as best practices for the young child. We have a large organic garden, a well-equipped mud kitchen and plenty of outdoor space to interact with the natural world. Our indoor environment is also fully equipped with natural materials.”
“Our curriculum is completely holistic,” says their curriculum director, Angelina Hart. “We strive to provide a purposeful curriculum. We are not interested in teaching children what they already know- such as colors and shapes- but rather things that really matter to them and pertain to their experience. We focus on relationships between people, the environment, the animal world and our food. The garden is not just a show piece, but an integral part of our program.”
Many people today complain that millennials have a sense of entitlement and lack a strong work ethic. If we look at how schools have changed over the years one of the biggest changes is the lack of work required for a particular outcome. We are bringing back work here in an appropriate and balanced way. Children help prepare their meals, wash their dishes afterward, help in the garden and tend the animals. The greatest builder of self esteem is not a gold star or a “good job,” but rather a true sense of accomplishment for work well done.
